Three-vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. Highway 63 and 825th Street Hager City, WI in Trenton Township.

On Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at about 1:53 PM the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a three-vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. Highway 63 and 825th Street Hager City, WI in Trenton Township.

It was determined that a 2011 Ford Fusion traveling north bound on Highway 63 at 825th Street was operated by Kae Roberts, 88 years old from Maiden Rock, WI.  Ms. Roberts was making a left hand turn onto 825th Street when she drove into the path of a 2013 GMC Sierra pick-up traveling south bound, which was being operated by Bennett Lehto, 66 years old from Iron Mountain, MI.  Mrs. Jacqueline Lehto, 67 years old was a passenger in the vehicle.  Mr. and Mrs. Lehto and Ms. Roberts were transported from the scene by Red Wing Area Ambulance Service to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing, MN with undetermined injuries.

A third vehicle involved in the crash was a 2003 Subaru Forester operated by Mrs. JoAnn Wolff, 61 years old from Fort Ripley, MN.  Mrs. Wolff had been parked alongside U.S. Highway 63 near 825th intersection waiting to re-enter onto the Highway southbound when it was subsequently struck by the Lehto vehicle after the initial crash occurred.  Mrs. Wolff had a passenger, Mr. Craig Wolff, 62 years old they both were uninjured in the crash.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Red Wing Police Department, Red Wing Fire Department and Area Ambulance Service, Ellsworth Fire Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
