MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Pierce County Office of Corporation Counsel is to provide professional and ethical legal representation and advice, and to actively apply risk management strategies to mitigate the potential liabilities of the County.

Duties:
Provides legal advice to the County Board, county committees, and county departments. Provides representation of county agencies in court and administrative proceedings for child support, paternity, mental, drug or alcohol commitments, guardianships, protective placements, zoning violations and certain forfeitures. The Corporation Counsel represents the legal interests of Pierce County government, but does not represent or provide legal advice to businesses, individuals or other municipalities.
