On Sunday, August 28th, 2022 at 9:48 pm, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 10 near 530th Avenue Hager City, WI in Oak Grove Township.

A 2012 Dodge Durango operated by Kayla Wennberg, 29 years old of Burnsville MN was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 10 with her two juvenile children. A 2006 Chevrolet Impala operated by Renee Hendrickson, 47 years old of Ellsworth, WI was traveling eastbound. The Hendrickson vehicle drove left of center and entered the westbound lane, where Ms. Wennberg tried an evasive maneuver to avoid striking the Hendrickson vehicle and subsequently the two vehicles collided head-on.

Ms Wennberg and her children were transported by Allina Ambulance Service to the River Falls Area Hospital with undetermined injuries. Ms. Hendrickson was transported by Allina Ambulance Service to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN with undetermined injuries.

Assisting the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was Prescott Police Department, Prescott Fire Department, Allina Ambulance Service and Wisconsin State Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
