Taxes

Tax statements are mailed in mid-December. Full or first half real estate and personal property payments are due to the Pierce County Treasurer by January 31st. Any postponed personal property payments are due to the Pierce County Treasurer by July 31st.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING PROPERTY TAXES TO PIERCE COUNTY
  1. IN PERSON – The courthouse is presently closed to the public due to the Covid-19 outbreak in our area. At this time, an appointment is required to make a payment in person. Our phone number is 715-273-6743. We welcome you to use our 24-hour payment drop box, which is located near the rear parking lot of the courthouse building.  When you drive into the parking lot, look straight ahead and you will see signs marking the drop box location. Pierce County Treasurer’s Office, 414 W. Main Street, Ellsworth.  PLEASE NOTE:  THE PIERCE COUNTY COURTHOUSE IS CLOSED ON WEEKENDS and will also be closed January 1st.
  2. S. MAIL – Pierce County Treasurer, PO Box 87, Ellsworth, WI  54011 – Must be postmarked on or before January 31, 2021. For year-end payments (Dec 31) your receipt will show the date payment was received not the postmark date.  PLEASE MAKE PAYMENT TO PIERCE COUNTY TREASURER. Enclose tear off from tax statement so payment will be applied correctly.  However, if there are delinquent taxes, payment will be applied to delinquent taxes first.  IF YOU WANT A RECEIPT(S), PLEASE INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE WITH APPROPRIATE POSTAGE.   
  3. E-CHECK (ACH Debit) - $1.50 charge – Go to Pierce County webpage: http://www.co.pierce.wi.us/ Click on Tax and land information.  Click on Pierce County Treasurer.  Click on Online Tax Payment Information.  You will need the parcel computer number and dollar amount.
  4. CREDIT CARD – 39% Service Charge - Go to Pierce County webpage: http://www.co.pierce.wi.us/ Click on Tax and land information.  Click on Pierce County Treasurer.  Click on Online Tax Payment Information.  You will need the parcel computer number and dollar amount.
