Treatment Court

The Pierce County Veterans Treatment Court is a program designed to assist veterans who are in the court system. This is done by assessing the mental health and chemical dependency needs of veterans by utilizing the Department of Veterans Affairs resources along with county and court resources.

The Pierce County Veterans Treatment Court is based on the core competencies of mental health treatment courts and drug courts. The main difference is the utilization of the Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefit Administration, Veteran Mentors, and local community resources to provide a support system for veterans in the court system. The main goal is to provide resources so veterans do not return to the court system.

Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Pierce County Veterans Treatment Court to promote public safety by integrating, assisting and supporting veterans through a collaborative and coordinated response to include the Veterans service delivery system, community based services, and court supervised treatment and accountability through a system of sanctions and incentives. If you would like to refer a client or would like more information please feel free to contact the Pierce County Veterans Service Office at 715-273-6753.
