Spring Election - April 6, 2021

Voter registration is required. The residency requirement is 10 days. The registration form is available online at myvote.wi.gov. Please include a copy of your proof of residency when registering by mail (usually copy of drivers license if it has current address on it.) The law DOES NOT allow voter registration or absentee voting on the Monday before any election, so plan ahead. You may register on election days.
Once it has been determined you are a registered voter, you will be asked to sign the poll book. If you refuse to sign, you will not be allowed to vote.

You MUST be a registered voter to get an absentee ballot. You can register and request an absentee ballot at myvote.wi.gov and submit your photo ID.

You may also e-mail the town clerk to make that request for absentee ballot but you still must provide your photo ID unless you've submitted it to the clerk in a previous absentee request. PLEASE PLAN AHEAD AND REQUEST YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT EARLY. NO IN PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAY BEFORE ANY ELECTION.

The Town Chair, Supervisors, Clerk and Treasurer are elected in April of odd-numbered years and serve a two-year term. Candidates for these positions are nominated by town residents at the town caucus, which is held in January of odd numbered years. All town residents are invited to nominate persons for these positions at the caucus. The date for caucus is set at the December Town Board meeting in even numbered year.

The current officers are up for election on April 6, 2021. Watch for Caucus date in January, which per statute is to be held between January 2 and January 21.

The Town of Ellsworth has two wards for the purpose of electing county board supervisors. Ward 1 is the largest of the two wards and is represented by County Board Supervisory District 11. The Town Hall/garage is located in Ward 1. Ward 2 is represented by County Board Supervisory District 12. The boundary for Ward 2 is all that part of the town lying north of US Highway 63 and west of 610th Street.
