Assistant Finance Director - Pierce County is seeking to hire an Assistant Finance Director to assist in the operation of the Finance Department in the administration of a comprehensive financial system in order to produce an in-house annual financial report and plan. The Assistant Finance Director performs a variety of complex accounting functions assisting the Finance Director in providing a countywide vision and leadership in the county’s fiscal affairs. These functions include development and implementation of the central financial information/management, payroll and human resource systems, the development of the annual county budget, single audit and state financial report with internal reviews of accounting controls and practices with direct assistance from external audit staff performing compliant audit of county records. The Assistant Finance Director exercises delegated responsibilities and authority in reference to daily operations in the absence of the County Finance Director. Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Administration or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in public sector or government with proven supervisory/leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 3 years of related accounting experience.  FT 40 hrs. wk.; Salary range $66,102–$84,988/year depending on qualifications plus fringe benefits. DISPATCHER- Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is seeking candidates to fill openings for our Dispatch Division. This job includes answering multi-line phone system, including emergent and non-emergent calls for service; provide follow-up communication and assistance to field personnel. Operate radio/telecommunication system with mobile patrol units, municipalities and other public safety agencies on a county wide basis. Requirements: High School diploma, 1-2 years general or related experience is preferred, valid DL, and the ability to demonstrate computer proficiency. $20.75/hr plus excellent fringe benefits. Patrol Deputy duties are general police work to maintain public safety.  Requires: 60 fully accredited college credits OR a 2 yr Associates Degree. Park Ranger, Naturalist and Park Maintenance - Seasonal
The Pierce County Parks Department is accepting applications for summer positions at Nugget Lake County Park: 1) Park Ranger 2) Park Ranger Naturalist 3) Park Maintenance.   Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Some positions require working weekends, evenings and holidays.  Must be able to operate park maintenance equipment and common hand tools.  Must be available to work from the late May through the end of August.  There may be opportunity to work before and/or after this time period.   $11.06/ hour, 40 hours a week, No benefits.   Open until filled.
