Lee Kay -trailBackground

The establishment of this property was made possible through a generous donation by John and Mary Heilser of Fond du Lac, WI. The forest has been in Mary Heilser's family (Lee & Kay) for over 100 years. Heilser's family utilized the forest for providing fuel wood, fence posts, lumber and maple syrup. Forestry stewardship was a priority in the family as the forest has been under professional management for over 50 years. Pierce County will continue the forestry stewardship practices as well as provide a forestry educational opportunity.
