Lottery and Gaming Credit
Property owners may claim a lottery and gaming credit for property tax
reduction if on January 1 they were the owner of the property and used it as
their primary residence. To obtain a lottery and gaming credit application,
contact the Pierce County Treasurers Office at 715-273-3531 Ext 6427.

Real Estate Tax Bills
Real Estate Tax bills for the current year are mailed by the Local Treasurer in mid to late December. Full payment is due by January 31st to the Local Treasurer of the Township, Village or City in which the property is located.   However, if you choose to pay in two installments, the first payment is due to the Local Treasurer by January 31st and the second payment is due by July 31st to the Pierce County Treasurer, P.O. Box 87, Ellsworth, WI  54011.

If the full payment or first payment is not paid by January 31st interest will accrue beginning on February 1st.  If the second payment is not paid by July 31st, interest will accrue retroactive to February 1st on the balance due.

Interest will increase at the rate of 1% per month.

Online Payment Information
The Jurisdiction code for Pierce County is 5985.

Real Estate Tax payments and Ag Land Conversion Fees can be made online with a credit card or by electronic check from your checking account. Checks provided to you by your credit card company can be accepted for payment at the Treasurer’s office, but they cannot be used as an electronic check payment.  These payments are handled through Official Payments, our payment processing center. Pierce County receives no proceeds from these fees. 

The convenience fee for credit card payments is 2.75% times the amount paid.  Convenience fees for payment by electronic check is a flat fee of $2.75 for transactions up to $10,000.  Over $10,000 the fee is $15.00.  Payment for up to 5 parcels can be done for one transaction fee.

Delinquent and current year tax payments can be made electronically from February 1st through November 30th of each year.  Electronic payments can not be made between December 1st and January 31st because the local treasurers collect the 1st installment or full payment which is due by January 31st of each year.  No payments can be made electronically until we have completed our tax settlement with them.

Ag Land Conversion Fees can also be paid electronically.  Real Estate Taxes must be paid in full before payment of the Ag Land Conversion Fee online.
