2 Stream COMMINGLE


Sort Materials into the following two categories:


CONTAINERS ONLY   All Containers Can be Placed Together
 
Glass
Bottles and jars only; clear, brown, green,  
Rinse and remove caps (labels are ok).  Avoid breaking. 
No
window glass, ceramics, china, light bulbs, mirrors or glass cookware!
 
Aluminum Cans
 
Food and Beverage cans only - 
Rinse & flatten. No aluminum siding, cookware, foil pans or foil. 
 
Tin Cans
 
Coffee, soup, vegetable cans, etc.  Rinse & flatten (if possible). Empty aerosol cans, 
steel lids, and caps are OK. No clothes hangers, pans, cookware, or metal items. 

Plastics


NO PLASTIC BAGS!    
Type  #1 and #2 plastics only,  (milk jugs, pop & water bottles, peanut butter jars, cool whip tubs, etc.)Rinse and remove caps. Wide mouth containers are OK. Remove handles from ice cream pails, etc. 
No
toys, plastic film, deli containers, plastic bags, food, styrofoam, 5 gallon pails, caps, lids, vinyl siding or plastics other than #1 or #2.

FIBERS ONLY  All Fibers Can be Placed Together
Newspaper 
Magazines
Inserts are ok, catalogs, glossy flyers & paper 
Corrugated Cardboard Paper bags, cereal & cake boxes, manila envelopes, file folders  
Break boxes down and flatten! 
Office Paper White/pastel office paper and envelopes, window envelopes, scratch paper, computer paper, post-its: Place in a box or bag, tape shut, and label Office Paper   
Phone Books
All Mail
Remove plastic credit cards
Not Acceptable: Hard cover books, carbon paper, food wrappers, tissue paper, paper towels, detergent boxes, waxed milk or juice cartons, produce boxes, and greenhouse boxes.
