DUTIES: Provides certified copies of birth, marriage, and death registrations; realty-related uniform commercial code/financing statements, bills of sale, real estate documents such as deeds, mortgages, mortgage satisfactions, plat maps, certified survey maps, federal tax liens, current land or real estate descriptions, current ownership documents, military discharges.
Effective June 25, 2010 the cost to record a real estate document
in a county Register of Deeds office will be $30 regardless of the
number of pages. This is subject to change as redaction projects are completed.
The Register of Deeds office staff will not conduct Real Estate searches for you.
The public is welcome to come in to the office to conduct their own searches. Another option available is the use the Online Search Programs. (See below)
