Goodhue Wabasha Pierce Breastfeeding Coalition

Mission
Working collaboratively to promote and support breastfeeding within our communities, for the health and wellness of children and families.

Vision
Breastfeeding: accepted and nutured

Proposed GWPCBC Goals/Purpose

Disseminate materials, provide education, support and recognition to school districts, businesses and local organizations within our counties who provide a welcoming environment for mothers to breastfeed their children.

Serve as a resource for health care professionals and the general public
utilizing social media to improve the health of mothers and babies through
breastfeeding.

Promote greater breastfeeding awareness to child care providers through
information and support to facilitate continued breastfeeding and breastmilk
feeding.

The CARES project was developed in an effort to assist counties in making evidence-informed decision about how to promote child well-being and prevent child maltreatment.

Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) Community Health Initiative

To promote healthy living across the lifespan through good nutrition and physical activity by educating and providing information on resources to the residents of Pierce County.

Pierce County's HEAL is in the process of joining with St. Croix to become Healthier Together-Pierce and St. Croix Counties.  Healthier Together is a community coalition working to create and maintain healthy communities and provide a more strategic framework for local health improvement activities.

 

Hunger Prevention Council

Hunger Prevention Council


Hunger Prevention Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing hunger and inadequate nutrition in Pierce County through service, education, communication and coordination.

St. Croix Valley Immunization Coalition

The mission of the St. Croix Valley Immunization Coalition is to increase the immunization rate of all people within St. Croix and Pierce Counties.

Founded in 1996, The St. Croix Valley Immunization Coalition meets quarterly to share immunization information in order to facilitate and collaborate with all health care providers to promote and increase immunization levels of all people in our counties. Our coalition is comprised of private and public health care providers, schools, day care specialists, referral resource specialists, pharmaceutical representatives and the state immunization advisor. Pierce County HealthWatch Coalition

This coalition has the mission to coordinate community resources to make it easier for children and families to access care.

HealthWatch Wisconsin, established as a project of ABC for Health and designed to evolve as a membership-driven subsidiary organization, promotes improved access to health care coverage and services for the people of Wisconsin. HealthWatch has developed state of the art communication and training methods to help health care service providers improve both their competency and capacity to meet the needs of people seeking medical coverage and services.

W3TFL is a Multi-Jurisdiction Coalition (MJC) that includes six counties in Western Wisconsin; Barron, Burnett, Pierce, Polk, Rusk and St.Croix. With the help of our coalition partners and members, we are encouraging people in our communities to live tobacco-free.
