Notice to residents of Town of Martell

Town of Martell supervisors are warning residents not to plow snow from driveways onto public roads.

Piles of snow left on the roads pose a danger to other drivers and, when they freeze, are an obstacle for municipal snow plows.

Town Chairman Brad Taplin reminded residents that it is against the law to plow driveway snow across or onto any state highway or county or town road. Violators can be fined.

The next regular monthly meeting of the Martell Town Board will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the Martell Town Hall. The agenda includes approve minutes from previous meeting; treasurer’s report; old business: discuss road work; new business: discuss and approve driveway permits, employee’s report, approve payment of bills, discussion of ongoing investigation of allowing liquor/beer/wine sales in town, read correspondence, set date for next meeting, open for discussion and adjourn.
