Pierce County Civil Process Service
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department facilitates the service of legal documents and other papers on residents of Pierce County.
What is required for service / return:
q A prepayment is not required. We will bill you once the service has been completed.
q A cover page with complete instructions of service, indicating whether we’re to serve the Original or the copy; last date to be served; and best time to serve papers. Any address that has only a P.O. Box will be returned for a complete address.
q Two complete sets of papers for each person to be served, and 1 copy of the first page.
q Original and 7 copies of sheriff sales, original is returned with Sheriff’s signature.
Please be sure to include a manila-type self-addressed, stamped envelope.
Fees: New rates effective April 19, 2007
$30.00 per set of documents served, plus mileage
$20.00 per attempt (up to 3 attempts)
$.425 per mile, per round trip
$100.00 to post a sheriff’s sale
$50.00 to conduct a sheriff’s sale
