WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU APPLY FOR A COUNTY POSITION?

           

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

  

  1. You must complete the Pierce County Employment Application, Pierce County Release of Information Authorization and Drive Check and file by the position closing date of September 24, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. Include the name and contact information for 3 professional references.  You may include a resume.  

  2. Within five (5) working days following the closing date, all applications are forwarded to the Screening Committee.  The Screening Committee consists of the Affirmative Action Officer and a member of the county board of supervisors who is not a member of the Finance & Personnel Committee. The Screening Committee may include a non-board member who will provide expertise specific to the qualifications and experience desirable in the candidates for the position of Administrative Coordinator.

  3. The Screening Committee’s job is to select a suitable number of candidates for interview who have met the position criteria.  Following screening, candidates selected for interview will be contacted by telephone to schedule an interview time. Candidates who travel in excess of 250 miles to the interview may be compensated for mileage at the State rate.

  4. The Hiring Board conducts the interviews.  In the case of the Administrative Coordinator vacancy, the entire oversight committee (Finance & Personnel Committee) and an additional member of the county board of supervisors will participate in the interviews. The Hiring Board may include a non-board member who will provide expertise specific to the qualifications and experience desirable in the candidate for the position of Administrative Coordinator.

  5. The Hiring Board will select a candidate for the position of Administrative Coordinator an make a compensation recommendation. The successful candidate will be contacted by telephone with the offer of employment. A job offer is contingent upon favorable reference checks.

  6. The name of the candidate and the compensation recommendation are forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for approval at their next meeting.

  7. Note: Each candidate is advised that if he/she constitutes a final candidate for the position of Administrative Coordinator, as defined under §19.36(7), WI Stats. your identity will be subject to release. If you so request in writing to the county and if you are not selected to be a final candidate your identity will be kept confidential.
