Pierce County POLICY: Policy Interpretation
The Pierce County Department of Human Services Board believes that professional development for board members is vital to good governance. Therefore, new board members will be given, within 30 days of election, a thorough orientation about Human Services, board operations, finance, responsibility, and liability by the Director and/or board chairperson.
The Board encourages its members to seek additional training, in-service programs oriented to board and agency operations, and travel to conferences and conventions that will assist board members to develop their governance skills.
